Better Just In Time for Christmas!

So we spent Dec 14th - Dec 23rd sick! I started with a soar throat and Dylan followed suit with a fever and he was a snotty mess. AJ got really sick on the 15th and was puking for 2 days and had a high fever. On the 3rd day it was all diarrhea and she was dehydrated and needed to go to the hospital - she had a 104 fever and needed and IV for fluids. She was sick for about 8 full days and had to miss her Christmas party and PJ day at school. I felt SO bad for her. Poor Alex turned 35 and we barely celebrated - all he got was beer, peanut butter cups and brownies from Publix! In true Alex style, he could care less, all that mattered to him was that his little girl was sick and he wanted her better! Well right after she seemed to take a turn for the better I took a turn for the worse! I spent a night puking and then the other fun stuff for two days! Luckily my in laws and brother in law were here to help entertain the kids! Happy to report we were all doing so much better buy the 23rd in the evening and we made it to Medieval Times! We we to the children's mass and had a great Christmas Eve at home with tons of yummy apps and drinks and desserts. The kids sprinkled their reindeer food on the front lawn and were off to bed! Christmas was wonderful - the kids were so excited to open gifts and give gifts. We enjoyed the day home and had lots of good eats. My mother in law made her antipasto and I made home made manicotti and lemon chicken! Dessert was rum cake and it was great! Now on to NJ! SO SO SO excited! Hope it snows! Sick AJ-

Santa Christmas!

Our elf is back in full swing and here are some of my favorite little pranks and fun stuff he's done! He stole our stocking and replaced them with our underwear!
He was riding with the kids favorite stuffed animals on the Buzz ride on-
He left the kids some Christmas clothes and pi's!
He drew all over our family picture!
And he was caught drinking daddy's beer!

Christmas Fun with the Kids!

We are having a fun Christmas season with the kids here in GA! Lots of fun things to do and the kids are both at such a great age where they enjoy it all so much! Salt dough ornaments- This was fun to do with the kids and even daddy helped us decorate some! Here is the recipe I followed that I found on the internet- 2 cups flour, 1 cup salt, 3/4 cup water - mix and kneed into ball and then roll out on a floured surface and use cookie cutters to make the shapes. Use a straw to poke a hole in the top of each so you can put some ribbon through to hang them. Cook in oven at about 200 for a few hours until all the moisture is out. Paint, use glitter and markers to decorate!
Santa hand prints- AJ made these one night for her teachers! Just paint bottom of the palm and thumb red, the middle pink and rest of the fingers white and push down on paper! Use a white finger print on the tip of the hat!
We painted popsicle stick trees and decorated them with glitter and a star and we painted our own trees on paper! I think we can tell which one Dylan and AJ did! :)
And of course we baked cookies!!!

Dylan's Christmas Concert

Today at school Dylan has his Christmas show and party. I got there early to get Alex a front row seat and we were both so proud of what a great job he did singing his songs - he knew all the words to all of them. After they sang we headed back to enjoy a cookie swap and class party. Luckily my class is right next door so I could hop in and out of both parties!

Horseback Riding Lessons

AJ is SO SO SO happy to be all signed up for horse riding lessons! She is loving it and is learning SO much already! I am so proud to see my little girl doing something she loves that I loved growing up too! Her horses name that she rides is Griz and she is learning to take care of him in addition to just the riding lesson. She need to groom him, pick his hoofs, oil his hoofs and help get the saddle on and walk him out to the ring. After her lesson she need to hook him up and groom him again. She already trots and is learning to post to the trot! So proud of our little girl and SO happy she seems to have found something she LOVES!

Santa!

We went today to visit santa at the mall and told him all the things we want for Christmas - top of AJ's list is a Baby Alive doll and Dylan just wants lots of cars and trucks!
