Today we lost a huge part of our family. After battling all kinds of tumors and cancer and skin lesions from the cancer we had to put Marley down. Everyone's heart is aching and it was one of the hardest things we have ever had to do. AJ and I cried all the way to her school drop off this morning and when it came time to head to the vet Alex and I could barley get there. We made sure to stay with our first baby till he took his last breath here on earth. I was very peaceful and very quick but we are having a very hard time grasping the fact that he is gone. AJ is beside herself and is carrying around a picture of him. Alex couldn't' bare to go into work with all the tears he and I have be shedding. The house feels so empty without him. We are finding comfort in the fact we know Don, Nesta and all the other family members (furry and not) met him at the gates. AJ said she hopes there are lots of trees and toys for him in heaven.
We got Marley from the pound in WV in February of 99' when he was only a few months old. He came right over to Alex and nuzzled up into his lap and we knew he was ours. He was a crazy, feisty pup who was always on the run, chewing on rocks, barking like crazy, nipping at my toes and getting into tons of trouble. We loved him through all of college and than he made the trip back to NJ with us, lived in our first home there, experienced 2 pregnancies and the birth of his 2 siblings - AJ & Dylan. He came with us everywhere pets were allowed. He took the long trek down to GA with us, made it back to NJ with us for vacation last summer and then all the way back to GA. It is here that he came to his final resting place. He was always our protector - all 4 of us. He was the most dedicated family member. He stayed loyal and loving till the end. RIP Mar Mar - we will love you always.

Dylan has literally bounced his crib to death - he broke out the metal bottom and the metal springs which forced us to accepted he needed a big boy bed! He LOVES the Cars bed Mimi bought for him and has been doing pretty well napping and sleeping in it. We are very proud of our big boy!

AJ's class has been counting the days of school each day they are there since day one and they finally got to 100 and got to have their 100 day's of school party. Her teacher has been teaching them to count by fives and by tens and AJ is totally into it and really good at it. At their party they had to each bring in 100 of something to eat and then they made a party mix out of it to enjoy all together. AJ insisted on wearing her princess dress and when she came out of school she was wearing her silly 100 glasses! I love my kids school SO much - they do really great things!
Here she is counting out her pretzels and then all finished - she and I were both very proud of her work!
Here she is in her princess dress all ready and of course one with Dylan-
Here is her class enjoying their party-
And finally one with her silly glasses-

Last night Alex and I got to see Bruce Spingsteen on the opening night of the Wrecking Ball Tour here in ATL at Phillips Arena - he was awesome! He played lots of new good stuff from the Wrecking Ball album and a bunch of oldies that are goodies! Before the concert we hit up Dantana's for our Heart Attack Burger which is becoming our concert at Phillips tradition!

Is this AJ & Dylan, on the same chair, kinda snuggling AND smiling? Love catching these moments! I think it's only because they were both mad at me for saying no about something so they were being sad, swapping mean mommy stories! LOL! Love my kids!

Today I am super proud of myself - I DID IT - I ran in my first race - it was a 10k and I ran the whole thing! My goal was to run the whole thing in about 70-75 minutes, but I ran it in 67 - GO ME! The run was for a great cause - all proceeds went to fighting childhood cancer - something extremely important and I felt great knowing I was a part of it! I am truly amazed with myself and was so happy to be running with some of my amazing new girlfriends from our neighborhood have my Alex, AJ & Dylan there to cheer me on - I know I made them all proud!
